No matter how you feel about what Edward Snowden did, it’s clear that the majority of Americans don’t really mind the NSA surveillance program. In two recent polls, people have overwhelmingly agreed that the government should be allowed to use surveillance techniques in the name of safety. To what extent is still a question. It’s the same with advertisers, who essentially monitor customer behavior in order to better serve them online. And for the most part, people are okay with it.
