"I" of the Consumer Week in Review

The stock market is a tricky beast. This past week we continued to see big swings in both directions as everyone reacts to constantly changing news from European markets, the Fed, earnings reports, and Abercrombie & Fitch. It brings to mind something that I have thought for a long time, and that is the lack of basic financial education in the United States. A personal finance class should be part of every high school curriculum, and a finance class or two should be required of every college student to graduate. The key is just understanding what is going on in the world around you so that you can make decisions for yourself that will lead to more financial independence. Get it done America!
