Using Webinars to Market Yourself

It’s a constant struggle for small businesses to find new ways to market themselves on a budget. Opportunities exist all around us, but it may seem too complex or confusing to sort through them all and find the ones that make the most sense. Sound familiar?

Well, if you are open to hearing another idea, I’ve got one for you. Webinars.

Why Webinars?

They are easy to produce at a low cost, and they’re a great way to get a qualified audience’s attention. If you promote a webinar on a topic that is important to people, a topic that is closely related to your product or service, then you should be able to both inform and convert with one event.

Here is an example:

I recently attended a webinar offered by UpSellit. A marketing services company, UpSellit sent me an invitation to a FREE webinar on Site Abandonment. Website and shopping cart abandonment being a popular issue in the marketing world, I thought I would check it out. What I saw was a half hour commercial for UpSellit’s array of products, delivered in an informative, and interesting way. And after it was done, I quickly emailed them for more information.

This is a new breed of marketing through content generation, and it’s not for everyone. But if you’ve got a story to tell, you can find the audience who wants to hear it.

And hosting a webinar is easy. Services like GoToMeeting and Webex will make it easy to get started.

How to get started:

Think about a topic related to your offer. Can you teach people about that topic in a way that shares with them new insights or knowledge? Can you relate those insights and knowledge to your business in a way that will make some percentage of the attendants interested in purchasing from you?

If you answered yes to the above, you should offer a webinar.
