Marketing has never been about whether or not you have the best products. Yes, the job of the marketer is easier with a superior product than it would be with a lesser one. But marketing is about communicating with consumers in way that addresses their specific need and positions your company or your product as the right solution. The best example I can give is Apple. In many areas, it can be argued that Apple’s products were not the best, or the first in their market. They won with intelligent design and brilliant branding.
