Zach Heller Marketing Week in Review

Mid-August. The first reference to holiday marketing that I saw this year happened about one week ago, in mid-August. It gets earlier every year. Why? Because we all want to be first. We all make assumptions about when the others will start talking about holiday marketing, then we pick a day prior to that to do it ourselves. Next year it will be more like August 1st, then July, and so on until someone starts writing about next Christmas before this Christmas is over. It’s madness people, but it can’t be stopped.
