Zach Heller Marketing Week in Review

What is the ideal frequency for a manager to check in with their direct reports? The traditional practice of conducting annual performance reviews is going out of style. But even then, we knew that once a year was not often enough to meet with our team. Some experts say once a month, others say once a week. The truth is that it depends on the size of your team, and the role each member plays. Someone who is self-motivated and whose work is contained may only need a check in once a month. Whereas someone else might appreciate you playing a more active role day to day. It’s up to the manager to treat each team member uniquely, in a way that maximizes the productivity of the team as a whole.
