If you’re like a large number of Americans, you spent part of your Tuesday night this past week watching President Obama give the State of the Union to members of Congress. All politics aside, I wonder how you would describe the State of the Union in your own company. If you were asked to give a yearly speech on the state of your business, how would it sound? Would it be positive? Would it reinforce corporate values or lay out new plans? Would you be able to stand in front of your employees and customers and deliver that speech tomorrow?
