Email Marketing Worth $2.5 Billion

That’s according to Salesforce’s purchase this past week of Exact Target, an email marketing software provider.

I’m not in the business of reporting news here on the Zach Heller Marketing blog, but something like this could not go by without me picking it up. Salesforce just decided that email marketing was still relevant. And not only relevant, but relevant to the tune of $2.5B.

I’ve written in the past about the importance of email marketing in the face of growing critics, and I love it when a successful “new economy” company like Salesforce is able to prove that point.

Companies like Exact Target are growing and becoming more important. They’re using new technologies to ensure that small businesses and marketers are able to get their messages to more people, more effectively. Salesforce knows that. You should too!
