I should start this post by referencing the all out bash of Dominos that I posted shortly after the Super Bowl. Now that I got that out of the way, I can go on to praise them.
Yesterday I wrote about how great it was that Country Inn and Suites puts a Trip Advisor card on their bill encouraging reviews. Today I wanted to finish the thought by praising the advertising deal they struck with Dominos.
Cue the room keys:
As you can see from the photo above, the room keys feature an ad for the local Dominos. What a great marketing play! I’m not from around there. I’m staying overnight. I need to eat, right? (Full disclosure – I did not order Dominos while I was there)
One side of the card shows an ad with a number. The other side features a sampling of the menu. It’s brilliant, and creative. I’m not sure who approached who for this deal, but it’s a win for both companies.
Hotels, take notice, there are plenty of ways you can invite local advertisers in. And when done in the right way it can bring in revenue (you might be able to lower your room rates) and provide a nice added value to guests.
