With all of the privacy, behavior-tracking, ad targeting news that’s making the rounds these days, you’d think that at least the company’s practicing this strategy (hint: it’s all of us) would be able to get it right.
Which is why when I saw this ad show up during a recent game of Words with Friends I was pretty shocked:
Clearly they are targeting this ad at women. “All You Single Ladies” screams the fact that they think I’m in that category. And if I want to meet men and make friends I had better join Skout now.
The question is, who is serving me this ad? And what are they using about my data to come to this conclusion?
Anyone have any ideas?
