As promised, from time to time I will update you on some new blogs that I am following. These blogs serve as a source of inspiration for many things that I do. It’s important for anyone in the marketing field to stay up to date on what’s going on around them. An easy way of doing that is adding these blogs to your Google Reader (full disclosure: I’m not being paid by Google to promote their products, though I should be):
Spin Sucks: Arment Dietrich tackles the difficult task of fighting back against the negative perspective that many people have of marketing and PR. Spin Sucks offers a great mix of posts about successful PR strategies, corporate mishaps, and ideas for those of us lucky enough to be in these professions.
Social Media Explorer: Jason Falls leads a team of bloggers in a never-ending quest to discover everything there is to know about the world of social media. Visit it for the insightful commentary on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, come back for the ideas on how to best take advantage of the marketing opportunities provided by these networks, and stay for the easy to read posts by the entire team of writers.
Get Elastic: Written by Linda Bustos, Director of Ecommerce Research at Elastic Path, this blog offers an interesting mix of marketing case studies, analytics, and ideas. There is a good deal of research that goes into most posts here that can benefit anyone involved in online marketing.
Life After College: Jenny Blake puts it best, “My mission is to provide simple, practical tips that help you focus on the BIG picture of your life…not just the details.” This blog offers inspiration and ideas about how to deal with what life throws at you, stay positive, and working towards an end goal.
“I” of the Consumer: This is a no-brainer.
